JOB DESCRIPTIONSummary:Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. Leads software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Trains and mentors others. Works under consultative direction.Position ResponsibilitiesDevelop, integrate, and test of embedded flight software on a rapid development satellite programContribute to the full software life cyclePartner with systems engineering and test to write software that meets program needsCoding the engineers duties (which will include helping develop the software team to derive software requirements, evaluate software reuse, and define software architecture)Facilitate translation of detailed requirements and algorithms into flight software by closely working with subject matter experts and the software teamThis position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with SSBI or SCI and ability to obtain program clearance pre-start. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).Required Qualifications:Experience with a range of computer programming languages; must be fluent in C/C Experience with Real Time Operating Systems, such as Integrity, Real-Time Linux or vxWorksTS/SSBI or higher clearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience (highly desired) with agile development processes and methodsExperience in development, build and test of small and medium-sized spacecraftExperience in a dynamic rapid prototyping environmentExperience developing middle-ware softwareKnowledge of low-level programming with real-time constraints (example APIs include Unity and the Unreal Engine)Knowledge of computer hardware architectures and the extent to which they influence low-level softwareSHIFT/SCHEDULEStart time: 7AMEnd time: 4PMShift expectations: FirstFull TimeEDUCATIONAll candidates MUST hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
